With over 39 years of service in the Indian Army, including key roles such as Director General of the Defence Intelligence Agency, Lt Gen. Anil Kumar Bhalla brings extensive experience in national and international security, strategic operations, and the leadership of skilled technical teams. His expertise spans operational logistics, human resources, resource management, and the coordination of high-intensity operations at both national and international levels.

He was awarded multiple commendations for outstanding military service and leadership between 2008 and 2015 — the Vishisht Seva Medal, the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and the Param Vishisht Seva Medal — and is recognised for his exceptional contributions across key command and intelligence roles.
