Shri Ashok Modi, the founder of the Jaisal Club and the Jodhpur Club, is a renowned personality who has carved a niche in the world of clubbing in a very short time. He began his career as a public administrator with the Rajasthan Bank and retired as a bank manager in 2005.

Jeevandhara: education & welfare

Through his clubs, in collaboration with his NGO Jeevandhara, he works to uplift needy and slum children by providing education. What started with two children later reached a level where a group of 65 to 70 children were being educated, after which he developed a child home with the permission of the Government of Rajasthan.

The organisation has also worked with distinction in:

  • Women's empowerment.
  • Pollution control.
  • Literacy.
  • Water harvesting.

As a result of this work in the field of education, the Government of Rajasthan appointed him First Class Judicial Magistrate on the Child Welfare Committee.

Janadesh: public awareness

He is also the president of Janadesh, an NGO that bridges the gap between the public and those in power, and he has continued as its president for the past ten years. Janadesh campaigned extensively during general elections on the right to vote, the duty to vote and the Right to Information (RTI).

The Jodhpur Club

Maharawal His Highness Shri Chaitanyaraj Singhji is presently the Patron-in-Chief of the Jodhpur Club. Its patron members include:

  • Chief secretaries.
  • Directors General and Additional Directors General of Police.
  • The Director General of Income Tax.
  • Defence officials.
  • High Court judges.

They are joined by many senior bureaucrats, professionals, artists and corporate leaders who are well versed in club etiquette and protocol.
